what do you mean? It is a fox which has eaten an octopus but the octopus has burst free from the stomach, killing the fox in the process, and now small birds are attacking the octopus.
I see it took a Kiwi to understand the mentality of something like this. But now you've explained it, it all makes sense. And the moral of this story is: don't do drugs.
All specimens were either roadkill or died of other environmental causes. There were quite a few more pieces in a similar vein. The next question of course, is what was the octopus doing on a road?
