Victor wandering after Pixel. Pixel still a little afraid to be too close to victor

They have put them together very quickly but then they would be likely to avoid close contact anyway. Presumably another reason being this is the only completed enclosure too.

The lack of finished enclosure had very little to do with putting them together Pertinax. There is a small area at the rear of the housing complex that would have been perfectly large enough to house Pixel until the 3rd enclosure is finished.
I was talking to one of the keepers today, and he told me that as soon as Pixel was unloaded Victor was transfixed by him,and wouldn't leave the fence side. When they were allowed into adjoining pens in the housing and could make contact through the fence they immediately got on,and Victor wouldn't leave the housing and settle again until Pixel was allowed into his enclosure with him. Victor is used to being with other bears, and I think will relish the company. It definitely keeps him more active than he used to be.:)

Thanks for the explanation. Good to hear they are getting along so well and yes, it will probably increase activity levels too.
