This Dwarf Caiman exhibit is now open to the public, as of last month. Also, Living Planet Aquarium opened in March of 2014 and originally budgeted to reach 500,000 visitors by December of the same year. Somewhat amazingly the facility reached 500,000 visitors in its first 122 days! Now the establishment has been open for 11 months and is on the verge of its 1 millionth visitor. It will be interesting to see if the 136,000 sq. ft. aquarium will be able to sustain such impressive visitor numbers in the years to come. Nearby Hogle Zoo regularly receives 1 million visitors and so it seems possible as long as the aquarium adds new features to entice locals to keep returning.

I know the guys who wrote and illustrated the interpretive signs for this aquarium, including that caiman one. They are real weirdos:)
