Journey To South America - River Stingray and Others Exhibit

Taken 9/16/15. This location of the aquarium opened in 2014, replacing an earlier version. It features 5 themed exhibit paths in its interior, including: Journey to South America, Discover Utah, Antarctica Adventure, Ocean Explorer, and Expedition Asia (which opened after my visit so I have no photos of that part). This exhibit contains Chocolate Cichlid, Fish (unsigned and unidentified), Ripsaw Catfish, River Stingray

In the Ocean Explorer gallery there is the Ray Touch Pool and Tide Pool exhibits; in Discover Utah there is the Wood Duck, Arctic Grayling, Flaming Gorge and Desert Tortoise exhibits; and in Journey to South America there are these exhibits: River Giants, River Stingray, White-Faced Whistling Duck, Cardinal Tetra and Mata Mata.

What do those 11 exhibits have in common? Just like the example in the photo above, they are ALL open-topped tanks and that is a common occurrence at this new aquarium. I am curious to know if there are staff members specifically watching out for visitors who stick their fingers into the water, or if it is a major concern due to young children in the facility.
