Sure they did not have some already (BTW: Beauval is involved in Djibouti project - rehabiliation Djibouti wildlife, including beisa and Somali wild ass and Grevy's zebra)? What is your source?
For 2017 the zoo will be building new enclosures for lions and African hunting dog as well as building an extension to the African elephant paddock.
@Kifaru Bwana: Beauval has indeed Beisas already. I have seen them in person 10 days ago. @Kiang: In which direction they will extend the African elephant paddock (by the way: there are two outdoor exhibits)
Its a bull calf, born at Friday. Its the first calf to mother"Henna", born 2010 at Basel zoo. Unfortunately, her son has not the white left front leg like his mother.

Comings and goings for the Koala's: Male, Omaroo has moved on to Antwerp. In return Beauval has received a new 2.1 trio. Female, Yindi and male, Genoa both came from Duisburg whilst male, Mundoe has been imported from San Diego
This looks to be yet another fantastically ambitious exhibit for this place - the scale of the development at Beauval over the past 10 or 15 years is simply astonishing.
