Does anyone know when the two elephants are expected to give birth this year?

Beauval built a big 'Chinese' complex of which the centrepiece was an obvious Giant Panda enclosure, which stayed empty till they arrived a few months ago. Don't know if their arrival received as much publicity(in France) as Edinburgh's did over here.

I saw the thread about their imminent arrival but for some reason no-one mentioned when they actually arrived, seemed to go under the radar.
I'm guessing that they probably did get some publicity but not being aware of the French press I don't know if full on "pandamonium" exploded over that side of the channel either.

Don't worry, there was publicity about this arrival, here in France ! So much so that one day in May, the zoo was forced to close its doors because it was full (14,500 visitors). Unheard of ! Many people who came from far away sometimes were forced to return home ...

Urgent!!

I have read in a french zoo forum (actuzoo) that the dromedaries and watussi cattle will be replaced (to make room for an aditional gorilla exhibit - bachelor group).

Unfortunately I did not understand where EXACTLY the new exhibit for the dromedaries and watussis will be built. All I could figure out was something of an extension for North African Animals in the size of one hectare.

So to all french-zoos-knowing-fellows: Can anyone please tell (or rather explain) me, where this new exhibit will be placed in the zoo beauval map?! (E.g. South of the southern top of the asia plains exhibit or whatever).

Thank you very much in advance.

Beauval Panda Update?
Old 24-02-2013

It would be interesting to know from anyone whether the French Panda pair are( or expected to) building up to a mating period this spring, as is being reported for Edinburgh's pair, where oestrus/mating is expected in between a month to two month's time.

Hello,

I'm french, I'm the author of the "information" and I speak english so it would be easy

SO, the new dromedary exhibit is in a new part between Asian plain (Indian rhino, axis dear ...) and the new Chinese part, a new way was built near the Steller eagle aviary.

The new part it's just for dromedary (i think is temporary) and Bearded Vulture.

There is also a renovation of the Bird Tropical House with arriving of a pair of sloth and new armadillos.

About "Huan Huan" and "Yuan Zi", the two pandas, I think they are too young for hope of a mate this year but I think the park want to try during spring ... Wait and see

Sorry for my badly english
