Lingala (the 11 year old bonobo who originates from Apeldoorn) has had a female baby; someone know the baby's name?

2 weeks ago, 1 crowned lemur, 1 black lemur and 2 red-handed tamarins born in la Vallee des Singes.

Bonobo female's Lingala baby name is Swahili. A new birth in the bonobo group is expected this year (4th): it will make a group of 20 bonobos all together 24h a day; First time ever.

3 titi monkey babies born since March too. 35 living titi babies since year 2000 in this primate park. Amazing!

    Hey guys,
Can anyone help me with the names of the (now eight following the departure of Ricardo) male chimps? I know two of them are Conan and Jorg (?).

Also, if anyone has a way to let me see a recent copy of the European chimp, or gorilla, studbook that'd be fantastic. Need to do a bit of research into the apes of some of my favourite zoos, including this one. If you do, PM me.

This leaves a group of 8; silverback, and Sango and Lomako's father, Yaoundé (born in 1983 in Wassenaar), females Virunga (Lomako's mother, wildborn in approx. 1970), Moseka (Sango's mother, born in 1984 in Stuttgart), Hakuna Matata (born in 1996 in Hannover) and Mah Mah (born in 2002 in Howletts), and offspring Wefa (Virunga's daughter born in 2011) and D'Jomo and Mawete (Moseka's sons, born in 2008 and 2011) all born at the park.

Ok, chances are Sango and Lomako's 'move' may have been an April Fools joke...if it isn't then people are spreading rumours they'll be going to Pairi Daiza in Cambron-Casseau, Belgium.

[EDIT]After contacting the zoo on Facebook, it has been verified that their 'move' today was an April Fools, but Sango and Lomako will be transferred in the coming weeks. Whether to Pairi Daiza or not has yet to be confirmed.

Two baby pygmy marmosets and a baby red titi born.

However, the zoo has lost their male red-tailed monkey Kirk at the age of 22 :( this means that the gorillas now only live with one of the two groups of colobus.

I visited today for the first time; a spectacular zoo!
A few species I hadn't seen before; roloway monkeys, southern white-cheeked gibbons and a lesser spot-nosed monkey (on the gorilla island).
Four of the bonobos were not visible; Lisala, Luebo, Bondo and Kelele. The keeper did not specify why.
All eight of the gorillas were outside for the talk, but the weather was on and off rainy/cold so the majority of the apes remained indoors.
It seems the white-belted black-and-white ruffed lemurs being introduced to the red-bellied and black lemurs have an offshow outdoor area for the time being, connected to the house by a tunnel.
Only three of the chimps turned up to the talk; Jos, Bastiaan and Roy. Later on in the day when the weather was a bit nicer I saw Jorg, Conan and I think Vincent patrolling the island along with these three. Wonder was nowhere to be found (likely indoors all day).
No sign of the golden-handed, emperor or golden-headed lion tamarins, not to mention the Geoffroy's marmosets.
Pileated gibbons will arrive later in the year, and move onto the island currently inhabited by 6 red-faced spider monkeys. These monkeys will be moved to a much larger home on the other side of the main lemur walkthrough (almost opposite the bonobos).
Also, I heard gorilla display calls from inside the chimp house, so it's safe to assume Sango and Lomako are in there for the time being (until they're transferred that is). They are likely alternating with the chimps in terms of island use.
Also, Hakuna the gorilla looks very pregnant to me. gorillasland.yolasite.com says she's expecting, so she was likely impregnated in Budapest before she moved to Romagne.
Overall, a terrific park! Much more wild than Apenheul, and the staff are lovely. The bonobo keeper was very pleased to chat with me about her charges, and even more so when I managed to identify around eight of them without her saying a word :p I will 100% be back!

Did you get any confirmation of where these two are moving to? Is it Pairi Daiza?

Unfortunately not. The gorilla keeper took off almost immediately after the gorilla talk was over, and my French is pretty poor at best.
The zoo were also being very hush hush over info like that. It took me forever to get the chimp keeper to confirm that one of the males at the feed was Jos, and that was purely because they don't want people shouting out their names (rightly so, at the bonobo feed the public kept calling Daniela, Ukela, Swahili and Kirembo's names after hearing the keeper mention them in passing).
I would say it's safe to assume it's Pairi Daiza, a lot of people were commenting about it on the Facebook post about Sango and Lomako's move, so I reckon that'll be where they go.

I did, no access to a computer today I'm afraid as I'm travelling back from France today. I'll try and upload them in the next few days :) (not many photos of the actual park, mostly of the animals)
