1. A long term plan is to make the old house into a restaurant and exhibtion of the biggest animals that have so far lived on this planet. But since Copenhagen Zoo is turning 150 years in 2009 they are planning to make a temporary exhibition on the history of the zoo next year.
2. Yes, Subur was visible for the audience (my mum remember seeing her) but she did not live in the old elephant house. She used to live in the old tapir/babirusa house which was demolished in 2001. Her old outdoor enclosure remains though and is now used to house malayan tapirs.
Subur now "resides" at the Zoological Museum in Copenhagen.
