Talking Monde Sauvage (Safaripark Aywaille)
Old 07-08-2008

Do you guys know this Zoo already of Belgium? It is called Monde Sauvage (Safaripark Aywaille). I visted it last year, and i will go back next week to it.

It is a little Zoo like Olmen, but with an amzing Birdshow, a Parrotshow, a Sealionshow and a Safaripark. In the Safaripark there are Elephants, Rhino's, Hippo's, Zebra's, Girafs and a lot of other safarianimals.

They have sometimes specials events like "breakfast with the Girafs" etc.
This year the redone the Polarbear exhebit, and they put a South American part into the Safarizone...

But why i want to go back to this zoo? It is the last Zoo in Belgium with Orangutans..

Here are some pictures of my visit a year ago...

Yeeeeu, set the Zooanimals free (that is what this image screams )

Safaripark... Visit it with your one car, or with a huge train that's been dragged by a unimogjeep...

Elephants perk, just next to the safari (only way to see them)

HUGE monkeyislands, but little things to play with...

This park has(or had) 2 male Sumatran Orangutans. One is Mokko who was born in Jersey- he hasn't developed normally. The other I know less about(is he called Marcus or Marius?)

Have they any females now? Maybe you can photograph these Orangs during your visit...

I am sure there is one big male, and that their are 3 animals all together. Or the two others female or male are? I wouldn"t know, but mayby it will be clearly next week.

These pictures are from last year...

I didn"t find these animals there i am afraid.

With the Orangs there are now two Gibbons on the island. The 3 Orangs are still the same, 2 are certainly male, the other i don"t know...

New in the Zoo? A South-american Safari with a Tapir. New paintings against the wall of the Icebears, youngsters with the Vari's, nice cubs with the Artic Wolves...

And still a beautifull birdshow...

I find Monde Sauvage a fine zoo, it's not like an international big zoo, but I have a great time each time I have visited this zoo.

Mine pictures of Monde Sauvage: Picasa Web Albums - Matthias - Monde Sauvage...

Nice Orangutan photos. The big(padded) male is Marius/Mario. The dark slim one is Mokko (ex Jersey- he will never develop into a normal adult male- no testicles) The third & smallest one staying close to the big male in the photos looks more like a female by its behaviour.( I will check on ISIS) Maybe you can found out her/his details?

It is definately a female according to ISIS. Maybe you can find out where she came from and any more details e.g. are they intending to breed them?
