To start a new thread... 0.2 White Rhino were imported from South Africa to Monde Sauvage at the end of August and have just gone on show following quarantine
it were to females? I thought it was a pair. if it really are 2 females, I'm happier than with a pair. MS doesn't have the space to keep a group as suggested by the EEP, but with AI, 2 females could be useful.
nice some fresh blood for the EEP. now get a few more zoos to start breeding and we won't need fresh imports every few years.

They had 1.2 oldie individuals, all wild-caught in South Africa and born between 1966 and 1968. They "disappeared" … around March 2011. The new group started arriving in August 2012.
Male Southern whithe rhino arrived from Italy ( Parco Faunistico le Cornelle ) for the 2 females already at Monde Sauvage.
0.4 Impala also arrived from Emmen on the same day - they will join a male who arrived from Planckendael last month
This would be male Heiner (born at SP Hodenhagen) who was not to be bred to his half-sibling sister at the Le Cornelle facility.
