Hamburg Zoo - Mandrill indoor exhibit
Old 01-11-2008

The small indoor exhibit for mandrills in Hamburg Zoo. This exhibit is located in the African panorama, and they also have an outdoor exhibit, which is bigger than the indoor exhibit.

Good to hear that the outdoor exhibit is bigger, since this indoor exhibit seems to be rather small and poorly designed.

Poorly designed? It was build 1998 with the best knowledge for what the animals need. After they moved in, there is mostly no fights and they are breeding like hell

OK, I am pleased to hear that, as well. Because my immideate impression from the picture is "overcrowded and boring"... honestly!

No, that poor do not see it out to be, perhaps would have been something bigger, but I think it fits these monkeys.

Size is not alll in the world, and the exhibit is much bigger than the pictures shows. The mandrills are looking good and are healthy, and I bet, they can use the outdoor exhibit during the day also in winter times.

I think using the word "boring" as a description of a husbandry should be avoided-as it is pretty much overused in these photo comment sections and, as shown, highly subjectively biased.

I get your point, but - also - please keep in mind that those of us who aren´t fluent in English will always express ourself much simpler and less elegant (elegantly?) then others...

@Dan: I understand you point, yet the rich English language should offer more adjectives other than "boring", shouldn' it?

@Sun Wukong.Yes, you did,Ho. By the way, with the danger, to bore you, because its outdated now:I wish you a happy new year. Maybe you can answer the sumatran rhino question in the german Kindergarten ? I could, but I won't.

@Zebraduiker: Hey, we could rephrase that old Lionel Ritchie song: "Hey you, bore me"

Happy New Year, too And about the 'kindergarten'-done deal
