unfortunately not. I thought they used to have 2,1. Those animals were divided into 2 "groups", one off display, the other on display. I don't know whether there were 1 or 2 animals in the "on display exhibit". So perhaps the 2 surviving animals are both behind the scenes.

What species of Echidnas do Rotterdam keep? Short or Long billed, either way it is very unfortunate,

There was an exhibit with australian and new guinean wildlife in the winter of 77/78 so i suspect they are in Blijdorp since then, but someone else needs to confirm this.

Just wondering do Echinas show any significant aging signs? Because I've read some animals do and some don't very much at all,

The first time I ever saw an echidna was in Rotterdam in 2005. I decided not to leave the zoo without seeing one, so I sat by the enclosure for 40 minutes in the late afternoon, and JACKPOT

Has anyone seen one in Blijdorp the last year?
Because i couldn"t find one i must say. Or they are behind the scenes, or it are really Houdini's
