Taken from wild cats in NZ zoos,

Could anyone give an update on how the Golden cats are doing?

Last series of "The Zoo" I saw, they had 1.0 born after the 2.0. If I remember correctly he was taken to be handreared because of a wound on his neck.

Have they produced any other litters?

Sorry I don't have much information off the top of my head. We have 2.2 Golden Cats that are off display. They were originally in an enclosure next to the Tiger (since replaced with the new ASC Otter enclosure). I understand that they are off display due them being rather neverous and not reacting well to being on public display. I'll try and get some more specific info and relay what I have.

I've heard that about this species too... In particular I've read being on display almost guarantees they won't breed which I'm pretty sure is all Auckland is interested in at the moment (especially given the lack of an enclosure for them)...

This was the main reason they pulled them off display, and even in there off display enclosure they have wicker fenceing attached to their enclosure to hide them from staff.
