Sad news...
Giraffe dies suddenly at Auckland Zoo (+photo) - 08 Jun 2008 - NZ Herald: New Zealand National news Sounds like she fell for some reason. She was their main breeding female. From a future breeding persepctive - lucky she had a daughter. Clothcat |

What a shame ..... but at least she has had success in birthing offspring , and was a fairly old giraffe .
It is only in the last 20 years that Auckland has had any success with giraffe breeding -- they almost went the way of the bears ( phased out indefinately ) |
