I found this article a few months before I joined Zoochat. It states that Wellington Zoo are to get a young tigeress named Isha from Melbourne Zoo via WPZ. I was wondering if anyone knew what there plans for her were? Will she be bred to the current male Rokan or will a new male be brought in for her? Also is the elderley female Cantik still alive?

    Thanks

Has Isha arrived at Wellington Zoo yet? Is Rokan still there?

Cantik will hopefully be a great great grandmother in the next year or two as one of her great grandaughters named Kirana has recently been paired with a young male and the keepers are hoping they will have cubs soon.

    Rokan

Yes, Rokan is still @ Wellington Zoo. I have made a Sumatran Tiger family tree starting from Jambi and Cantik, so I will try to post this soon. Could you please tell me what zoo Kirana is currently at (is it Chester Zoo?). Thanks.

Hi yes Kirana is now at Chester Zoo. A 2 year old male named Fabi arrived in April from Prague Zoo and the keepers are hoping that they will eventually produce cubs.

Banda was born in September 2002 at Dudley Zoo in the UK. Her mother Sarah still lives there. Her father Filon died in early 2008. Banda has 7 siblings throughout Europe from 3 different litters. (Banda was from the second litter) I think Sarah was born at Berlin Tierpark in Germany in 1995. She has a sister at London Zoo called Rakia. Banda's siblings include...

Padang (M) Now at South Lakes Wild Animal Park in Cumbria UK
Kepala (M) Now at Dublin Zoo Ireland. (Lived at Chester Zoo from May 2007 until Febuary 2009) Kepala has recently sired 1:1 cubs. :)
Indah (F) Now at Howelets Wild Animal Park in Kent UK.
Pekendah (M) Now at Lisbon Zoo Portugal.

Ask me if you want any more information

Rokan and Isha are closely related.

    Nico-Shiva-Ramalon-Isha
    Nico-Jambi-Rokan

Making them first cousins once removed.

I'm waiting to se the family tree to see what information that I may have missed. If you want to expand it out so that you include others of the descendants of Jambis grandparents, Nico and Meta, let me know.

I have now posted up the Family Tree. In a while I will probably expand the Family Tree to Nico and Meta.

Malu had another litter when she moved to Mogo Zoo. On 1st April 2004 she gave birth to 3 cubs. They were removed from her at birth and sent to Australia Zoo when they were 3 weeks old. The 2 male cubs were named Ranu and Juma and the female Singha. As far as I am aware non have bred yet although mates have been sourced for them from Indonesia. Jambi was born in 1988 not 1998.

Were Tenang, Berani and Setia born in 2000 or 2001? I was sure it was 2000 until I read somewhere that it was 2001.
