0.1 South African cheetah have arrived from Ree park, DK

On January 28 have 1.2 South African cheetah been born to the female Naki (B, Borås 2008). The father of the cubs is Siswati or his brother Sandawe, both came from Safari de Peaugres in France 2012.

Since 2005 have about 26 Cheetahs been born in Borås.

 

The two Common Chimpanzees females Malin and Py have sends to Valencia.

In some weeks two new chimps females will arrive from Chester Zoo, UK to join the group at Borås and start a breeding group where.

 

0.0.1 Grant´s Zebra have been born this week.

Also 0.0.2 Grant´s Zebras have sent to Öland Djurpark (SWE) and Veszprem Zoo (HU).

 

Last Friday (29/5) 0.1 Cape buffalo was born in the park to the female, Femi. The calf have been named, Elvira.

In the next weekend the new entry building will be open too.

 

0.0.3 Red pandas have been born to Ping (B. Nordens Ark 2012) and Shifu (B. Prague 2012).

The chimpanzees females from Chester have also arrived and they have began to introduce them to the rest of the group.

 

Which females?

 

The Red panda cubs have been sexed like two males and a female.

On Monday 3/8, a Bohus cattle bull was born at the Childrens zoo in the park.

 

More births in the park!

About a week ago was a Grant's zebra born and yesterday evening, an Eastern bongo was born in Borås.

 

The Bornean orangutan female Storma (7 years) has got a contraceptive implant because the zoo doesn't want her to get pregnant, while waiting for a new home at another zoo in future.

Also a sculpture has built at a roundabout close to the zoos parking lot.

1.1 Eurasian wolf have arrived from Järvsö Zoo and Skånes Djurpark to start a new breeding couple.

Some future news for the park will include a update of the Children´s zoo (begins this year) , new Tiger exhibit, and to develop for the elephants.

They are taking about geting new species to the zoo do som now witch one

 

Last week, 1.0 Eastern Bongo has been born in the park, which have been named; Kummin.

Other births this year includes:
Cape buffalo
Common eland
Greater Flamingo (more will be hatch later).

Also a new, Bongo male will to arrive later this Spring.

 

1.0 Grant's zebra called; Dante have arrived from Prague, CZE.

 

The elephant females; Dudu (B: Kruger NP about 1990) & Panzi (B: Borås 05/05-2005) has both been confirmed to be pregnant. The father of the calves will be Yoga (B: Tuli Reserve about 1996). The both calves will be born next year.

It will be Dudu´s fifth calf and Panzi´s first. Panzi is also Dudu´s second calf, the other calves Dudu are mom to are:

Kwanza (B: Borås 13/08-2001), now living at Sosto zoo, HU - Female
M'Changa (B: Borås 11/08-2008), now living at Noah's ark zoo farm, UK - Male
Jabu (B: Borås 21/05-2013), still living in the park - Male

Some news from the park.

On June 3, Three Alpacas arrived to the zoo. This is a new species and they are located at the Childrens zoo in the park.

On June 4, The children zoo was reopened with a new rabbit exhibit, where visitors can see the rabbits through glass bubbles via a tunnels.

A couple a weeks ago 0.1 Red panda called; Wanju arrived from Flamingo Land, Uk.

The zoo is also preparing for the Elephant calves next year and has proposed an expansion of the elephant house. The cost of the expansion is expected to be 25 million Swedish crowns (about 2.7 million euro). The municipal board of Borås are positive to support the park with money, but the politicians in the municipal council will vote about the proposal first.

2.0 Southern cheetahs have been born on June 20 to the female, Nova. The cubs have been named; Thomas & Toulouse. Since 2005 the park has had a successful breeding of cheetahs and 28 cubs have been born during the time.
