From Wednesday 10/6, the sloths (Tallina & Annika) live together in the new enclosure on the top floor in the Rainforest ( next to the door between Aquarium hall and Rainforest). The famous Toco toucan couple: Big George and Georgina have also began to build a nest. The plan was to move them to the enclosure with the sloths, but they will stay in their old enclosure if them get chicks.
With start from Monday this week, they have started to construct some new things in the Rainforest. A 25 meter high tree will be built, where people can discover the rainforest from different views and heights. It will also be a new lagoon exhibit for birds, frogs, butterflies. Under the time of construct, only the 4th floor and the stairs down to 3th floor in the Rainforest will be open for public, and some of the animals will move to the; Water´s Way and Deadly Beauties for the moment until the construct is finish. The construct of the Rainforest is complete and will be open on June 8 2016 (the same day, Universeum is celebrating 15 years). Below, you can find a picture how it will look in the future. https://www.facebook.com/Universeum/photos/pcb.10153598788315700/10153598789500700/?type=3&theater
13 young Brownbanded bamboo sharks (about 4 months old) will arrive from Aquaria, Stockholm next week to Universeum and Maritime Museum & Aquarium (also located in Gothenburg). The process to renovate the Rainforest has started too. https://www.facebook.com/Universeum/videos/vb.160068770699/10153630239090700/?type=2&theater

Has the species on display changed at all? Could you provide a list of what is currently displayed in there?

Thanks for the update! The River Temple exhibit sounds especially interesting - are all three primate species free-range within that walk-through?

Visited today and thought I would post some updates to what has been said here previously... In the sloth enclosure I saw one sloth and one Toco Toucan, not sure what happened to their pairs. They are also now mixed with the Common Marmosets who mainly hid off-show, occasionally coming into the main enclosure. These were the only species of Toucan I saw on display, although there may have been some in the ground floor aviary which is very hard to see into. Generally very impressed by the place. I was wondering about the Water's Way exhibit, were any birds ever kept in that area? It seemed like it was designed to hold free flying birds too.
When I visited in 2012 there were birds free-flying in the area; I saw Blue and Willow Tits, and there were also Great Crested Grebe in the ponds. It would be a shame if there are no longer any present. There were numerous fishes displayed too, and terraria for Adders and Grass Snakes (and I think other species that were hibernating and couldn't be seen).
Yes there was the Great Crested Grebe but no free flying birds that I could see. The top area has a net up that has started to fall down, this made me wonder if it was to keep birds in previously? Shame there are no longer free flying birds in that area, such a big space for them.

A Goeldi's marmoset female was stolen yesterday around ''lunchtime'' from Universeum, fortunately they found her alive later around 23/ 11 pm o'clock at a ''McDonalds-restaurant'' in west Gothenburg (about 20 min from Universeum). Exotisk apa försvunnen från Universeum: ”Helt säkra på att den är stulen”
New arrival of one 1.0 toco toucan and 2.0 Pied Tamarin in Universeum. The marmoset who were stolen is in good health and has returned to normal, according to staff.
New Pied tamarin has been born. Universeum's sawfish named Fröken Sågkrates has been moved to the spanish park named Océanografics. New female sloth arrival. They also have young stingrays in the back area according to my visit last saturday.
