Planned to open in 2012, an area in the central section of the zoo is being developed to house species from the Pantanal habitat of South America.
Species will include:

Giant anteater
capybara
lowland tapir
squirrel monkey
yellow breasted capuchin
Chilean flamingo

Was just at this zoo in late May. This Pantanal exhibit was very pretty. Very green, with a rainbow of animal colors (flamingos, macaws, etc.)

I don't take many still photos, and what I take is with a very low budget camera. I document my zoo visits with video.

I will be there in late April, so I will have photos to post. (But the lack of a jaguar or ocelot exhibit means I am much less enthusiastic about this area compared to their Asia area with outstanding exhibits for snow leopard, amur tiger, indian lion).
