Tropical House at Blackbrook 03/04/10

The former Water, Webs and Wings building remodelled rather effectively. Apparently the planting was only completed on the 1st and most the free-flight birds introduced on the 2nd and the place already looks very well established apart from some noticeably empty reptile tanks. There are Geoffroy's Marmosets by the entrance, other wise the inhabitants are: Free-flight: Blue Crowned Pigeon Black-naped Fruit Dove Bali Starling Nicobar Pigeon Orange-headed Ground Thrush Striated Mousebird White-crested Turaco Aviaries: Blue Crowned Pigeon Victoria Crowned Pigeon Black-naped Fruit Dove Mindanao Bleeding-Heart Dove White-crested Turaco Purple-crested Turaco Pekin Robin Emerald Starling Amethyst Starling Red-winged Starling Royal (Golden-bellied) Starling Crowned Plover Blacksmith Plover Northern Carmine Bee-Eater Sun Bittern Ferruginous Pygmy Owl (please feel free to chime in if anyone spots anything I've missed!)

Just one missing - but possibly the most interesting - Bruce's Green Pigeon

Of all the species to miss - one we particularly spoke about as always causing us ID trouble!

      Thanks Rob!
