    Assuming the zoo did let her in an unrestricted area, they have some fault. I don't really know anything about this zoo so I can't really say if I think the woman is lying or not, though I am a bit skeptical.

    But seriously, why do so many people think it's a good idea to try and pet animals like lions? Just because it's captive, doesn't mean it's friendly or tame. What on earth is wrong with people? Why do so many people today grow up thinking nature is totally harmless? Or has it been like this for a long time?

    Pretty sure it's been like this forever. Maybe in the past it just wasn't newsworthy. Unless it's funny idiots hurting themselves isn't exactly brilliant news.

    It's blindingly obvious, we've even got signs on our enclosures -- 'These animals BITE'. (Of course it bites, it's a LION (Tiger, whatever).
