Does anyone know if any zoos have Madagascar Hoopoes or Common Hoopoes in the US? I've done a lot of googling, but couldn't find any.

I've got a friend who is in love with these birds, and would love to find them in a zoo somewhere.

    Welcome sr4136,
There are a couple of useful websites listing animals in zoos:
isis.org - an official but sometimes outdated international database
and zootierliste.de/en - an unofficial European database

Interestingly, ISIS shows only a single female Eurasian Hoopoe at Denver Zoo.
    Hope that helps.

San Diego bred them very successfully many years ago

Denver zoos hoopoe is rarely, if ever, on exhibit any more and I have only seen it twice out of the many visits.
