    Hello All,

While climbing Stok Kangri Glacier in Ladakh, India in 2004, I encountered two snow leopards hunting a dzo (part cow, part yak). Amazingly, the dzo was full-grown and healthy, weighing around 800 pounds. Needles to say, this encounter was extremely rare, as leopards usually hunt much smaller prey, say the size of markhors. Although there is now some excellent footage of snow leopards hunting, I have still yet to find any such as this.

After sitting on the footage for four years, I was shamed by a colleague into making this very short documentary, which can be seen at:

YouTube - First Ever Footage of Snow Leopards Killing a Bull

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Hey Zoogoer2000,

I'm the guy yelling holy sh*t. I didn't expect to see the second leopard. The guy climbing, my buddy Jigmet, got within about four feet of that one. It was a juvenile, I believe.
