Sad news indeed, i remember him from the ITV, Saturday morning show NO.73 and entering a competition, to win a trip with him to Madrid zoo (of which he was very fond of), needless to say i never won!
I also have a copy somewhere of the book he wrote about the final days of Windsor safari park.
And who could forget one by one.

I have many of David Taylor's books, and really enjoy reading them, especially his accounts of the different zoos he worked in. He was up there with Durrell and Attenborough in my 'idol' ranks. This is very sad news indeed.

    RIP David Taylor

    :(

Very sad news. I've read (and re-read) several of his books and loved watching 'One by One' as it was filmed at my local Zoo (Dudley).

David was a friend of my family for many years and we are deeply saddened to hear of his sudden death. David was great man, intelligent, interesting and fun-loving.

God Bless you David. You will be greatly missed by all who knew you.

Very sad news indeed, he was widely regarded as the first "wild animal/zoo vet" in the uk and he led the way for others to follow, he specialised in cetacean medicine breaking new ground, he was also a passionate zoo-man and his dedication to his job was incredible.
He created the world famous International Zoo Veterinary Group, along with Andrew Greenwood, which has grown into a world leader in wild animal medicine. IZVG is his lasting legacy. Of course he was a great author and I personally loved the "One by One" series, which helped spark my own zoo career.

What sad news. I have several of his books and of course he had a very close connection with my beloved Flamingo Park of the 1960s. RIP David Taylor.
