Spanish word for 'tusker' (as in elephant) ??

Hello Friends,
I wonder if anyone who speaks Spanish might know the Spanish word for 'tusker' - a bull elephant with large tusks ? My book on elephants has been translated into Spanish but the translator is stuck on 'tusker' and can find no Spanish equivalent. Thank you ! Advertisement

Here in Argentina, the Spanish word for "tusk" is COLMILLO. So, "tusker" in Spanish, should be COLMILLUDO, but at least in my country, we don't use many often that word, we tend to say "elefante con grandes colmillos" (elephant with large tusks).

I totally agree with ocean_boy.
He is totally right. in his explanation.  Just want to add a little explanation about 'colmillo': that word mean 'long teeth'. |

Yes. elefante con grandes colmillos, is the best translation. In Mexico, colmilludo, is also slang for someone is intelligent and pushy, and usually gets his way. That would sound like an old elephant I think, but it also goes for certain politicians. El tipo es muy colmilludo, we say. So again, follow ocean boys advice to retain the most clear explanation and use , elefantes con grandes colmillos.
