Hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin)

It is really a terrible picture but it is the best one of the ones i?ve got from the hoatzin which was held there. The hoatzin had arrived from a local rescue centre and it was being fed with mangroove leaves and other plants. It lived for about 2 months. It was being kept with some tanager species and honeycreepers.

Wow, it looks almost prehistoric. Hopefully some place figured out how to keep them alive.
