      could be bigger ;) :p

Could also have done something to try to keep them in the enclosure!!!!!

Do they have a habit of escaping? It did seem a bit low security but I never saw one outside the exhibit.

Well i couldn`t find any way of stopping them from just burrowing out and i did have a good dig round so to speak.
    • Pertinax
They will almost certainly escape by digging out- unless underground fencing has been dug into the surround. When they do escape they will remain and breed on both sides of the enclosure and do no real harm- but their tunnels & hillocks will dot the landscape.

From what i could feel when on the day i took this picture i could find no sign of the fence been dug into the ground.
    • Pertinax
After seeing the standard of some of the other enclosures I wouldn't expect that either. There seems to be an electric wire around the fence as if they expected them to climb(!!), not dig..

So free-ranging PrairieDogs in the future? ;)
    • zoogiraffe
It would appear so,cannot wait for them to do it so i can trip over a hole:D

As they say where theres a claim theres a blame!

Isn't there the risk of priare dogs decimating wildlife (you know the pigeons and rats and other wonderful british wildlife)?

Seriously I think even I could do a better job then this zoo (I know that priare dogs can dig!)
    • Pertinax
yes, when I said 'do no harm' I overlooked that. They will leave themselves open to liability if people break their ankles or fallover the holes...
