View of ongoing redevelopment of main entrance area, as viewed from inside Zoo.

Interesting, does'nt seem as large as I thought it would be. I'm aware the surrounding area will become pedestrianised once building is complete.

How far does the building extend into the zoo? Has the footprint changed from the outside?

The photo may be somewhat deceptive; the extreme wide-angle lens I shot it with tends to make the subject look smaller than it actually is.:)

I agree it may look smaller in the photo. Width-wise it basically covers the old shop up to the toilet block, so quite wide! Not sure about depth-wise, but definitely coming on quickly!

      Bigger than it looks!

The new entrance complex houses a shop (about half the size of that at London Zoo), cafe, ticket office, toilets and meeting rooms. The complex is L shaped with the view shown being about two thirds of the long arm of the L taken from within the zoo. See my post of yesterday for view from the other side.

it looks a vast improvement. Looking forward to having a look at it (it seems a bit strange to be looking forward to seeing a new entrance!)
