The New England Aquarium didn't have a news thread so here's one. A renovated Giant Ocean Tank will be completed by 2013, as part of the $42 million overhaul of the entire aquarium. The animals from the Giant Ocean Tank will be in the Penguin exhibit, and the Penguins will be in an Animal Care Center in Quincy. It will start in September. The New Aquarium Experience In May, a male Northern Fur Seal pup was rescued in California and brought to New England. Since then, he has been named Leu, and is making strides each day. New England Aquarium Forums Also, the California Sea Lions and Leu the orphan Northern Fur Seal are now regularly on exhibit. A 21 pound American Lobster has been added to the aquarium's collection. He'll eventually find a home in the Gulf of Maine exhibit.

The African and Rockhopper Penguins have moved to an offsite faculty. I plan on visiting this faculty next year, with possible trips to both Zoo New England faculties.
