Brown Hyenas in San Diego?

I just checked the ISIS and it listed 2 brown hyenas ( possibly subadults ) in San Diego Zoo. Can someone other than ISIS confirm for me that this is really true?

I am not sure about brown hyenas, but the zoo does have 2 striped hyenas on exhibit. They are at the end of Cat Canyon beside New Guinea Singing Dogs. If the brown hyenas (which as far as I know, no US zoo keeps) are in the collection, they are not on exhibit.

While the silvered langurs proved to be present, the brown hyenas are a 'false positive' (i.e., ISIS glitch)

How about the black wildebeest. Just saw it on ISIS. San Diego wild animal park have three females. Is this a glitch as well? This sounds too good to be true.

Yeah, these are glitchy too.
Hartebeests are prone to Malignant Catarrhal Fever (MCF), which adds another layer of difficulty in acquiring new animals (especially with all of the ruminant restrictions) and convincing more institutions to take them on. It was pointed out in another thread that there is a Safari Park in New Jersey (Six Flags?) with black wildebeest, and there may be some on ranches in Texas. In AZA zoos, however, there is waning interest in hartebeests and wildebeests - I don't expect to see black wildebeest coming into the limelight in North America.

Thanks Ungulate. I was hoping to see this interesting group of antelopes to come back to the US zoos. Do you have any idea which Texas ranch might have the black wildebeest?

Actually the San Diego Zoo has two striped hyenas and two spotted hyenas on exhibit. They also have one striped hyena off exhibit and two striped hyenas off exhibit at San Diego Zoo's Wild Animal Park.
