I was just reading an article in the San Diego Zoo magazine that mentioned a recently formed cheetah Breeding Center Coalition (BCC). It consists of nine members of the AZA, but it took some deep digging to figure out who the nine are: Cincinnati Zoo Fossil Rim Wildlife Center Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo Saint Louis Zoo San Diego Safari Park Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute The Wilds White Oak Plantation Wildlife Safari Here are two related articles. The second includes a chart listing the 2015 BCC births, which is how I pieced together the missing institution from the list. Although not part of the AZA, I think it's worth nothing that the Metro Richmond Zoo has a behind-the-scenes cheetah breeding center. It's possible that they work with the AZA with cheetah breeding. The owner of the zoo doesn't want to be told what to do with his animals, but he participates in the blue crane SSP so there's a chance he participates with cheetahs as well. This year, 13 cubs were born.
