With the opening of Polar Frontier the Columbus Zoo created a new map and it has been published on their website. On the map everything is marked with numbers with the keys on the top and bottom. The Polar Frontier entrance is right next to the Moose enclosure. While glancing over I saw a number in a small open area next to the Moose exhibit, 51 to be exact. Not knowing what it was I checked the key and it said "51 - Reindeer". Anyone have any information on this? I know Reindeer or Caribou were on the original plans for Polar Frontier but they were scrapped and they were not in the exhibit's press release, but to my knowledge they haven't had reindeer here recently. Atleast since I've started going to the Columbus Zoo. If no one has any information it's okay I'll just check when I go tomorrow :) I was just seeing if anyone else had any information :)

I asked a friend and he told me that the yard they are in is the new moose holding yard but the male only needs it in the fall and winter, so the reindeer use it during the spring and the summer. He also said that the reindeer were always at the zoo, but only on exhibit during the Wildlights and were moved to an off exhibit facility.

Thanks for the information :) I figured that they brought in Reindeer for Wildlights. I had no idea they had their own. Well I went Monday and I have a pictures to be uploaded including a handful of the Reindeer and Polar Frontier. (Not as many of Polar Frontier as I had wanted but it was extremely crowded so I only got a few good ones) I do have to say that I was really impressed with Polar Frontier though :) The exhibits were amazing and so were the immersion and educational aspects :)
