The necropsy on rhino calf Ethan has proven inconclusive. He appeared completely healthy but still died suddenly. Tissue samples had been sent to several independent labs but nothing is came back as out of the ordinary. They have sent out more samples and are hoping Jeta's necropsy might turn up something. A female tiger escaped her exhibit today into a neighbouring exhibit. A lockdown was done, police called in but keepers were able to get her back into her bedroom and secured. Luckily none of the animals next door were hurt. While frightening for zoo staff it had a great outcome. Certainly, underreported here. I assume that it may be that few if any people locally know about or are reading Zoochat?!! Just a speculative guess, no harm intended!!!
Because people rarely go to this zoo unless they live in the vicinity. Montgomery isn't a place most people travel to but rather to on the way to the beach. If you live on the coast you are just as close to several great zoos in Florida. If you live north of Montgomery you are closer to Birmingham, Chattanooga, and Nashville. Those cities are regional destination cities in ways that Montgomery isn't.
