- So I visit a lot of zoo's each year in the northeast. So far I have visited the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, Rosamond Gifford Zoo and the Mystic Aquarium. The past two months I have working on a database of all species I have ever photographed. I am up to about 480 right now. It is hard to identify from older pictures and certain animal groups such as fish are hard to list out. I should have it done by mid-may and then I will post a link. I have a page for each species that lists where I have seen it and the amount of individuals of that species I observed. A review should be up shortly.
Wow, seeing that list there really makes you realize how small Central Park really is! I'd just like to correct on the fact that the zoo has Ring-Tailed Coati and not White-Nosed. Additionally for reptiles, the zoo also has Solomon Islands Ground Skink (Eugongylus albofasciolatus). ~Thylo
The list is just of the species I saw, not what they have. I am pretty sure there are plenty of species that I failed to see. but yes the zoo is small only 6.5 acres. It still is a nice list of species that will grow when a new species is added to the polar bear exhibit.
