This zoo is under major renovations. Compassionate animal park owner from Western Australia has gone across to help out. Has anyone visited recently? Apparently they have around 350 animals?

    Bali Zoo

    Hi all ,
I note some of you have been asking about Bali Zoo and whats going on .We have spent a great deal of time and money helping this zoo .It was due to close down .I saw how passionate the staff were and a sense of sadness among them all ,as well the animals .We have pretty well ripped the zoo apart ,smashed down walls and extended cages .I don't really like zoos ,my thoughts are if we have to have one lets have a natural and safe zoo .The zoo still has a long way to go re safety and cage sizes .Its certainly 1000% better than when we took it with a sledge hammer 2 years ago .We have had some good results re breeding of White Tigers ,Lions and primates .
Bali Zoo - Nature's Education Centre - HOME will show you a little .
Peel Zoo | Wildlife Park | Mandurah |Western Australia will tell you more .I hope this answers some questions .I fly back on Sunday from Perth .If any one wants to know anything i welcome your calls ,emails or interest .
We are most happy to help any other zoos around the world that needs help .We have been very lucky with Indojet flying us to Perth ,great new airline .If you want to go to Bali anytime for Perth do drop me a line i will put you in touch with Indojet direct .Look forward to hearing from you all .\ Tony Greenwood

    good news for Bali Zoo

The eldest son to the owner of Bali Zoo Mr Lesmana has come back from being in University in Singapore.Les is now preparing to build moat style habitats .The day of iron bars is certainly yesterday in this project .His compassion for the staff and animals alike steps this man outside the box of another run down zoo .I will fly to Bali June this year to assist in any way possible .The zoo is a success story at every level .Considering 3 years ago it was nearly closed .No sign of closure only happy future for all concerned .I have posted looking for other zoos that are in need of help,we are only to happy to help any other zoos .More hands and minds make light work.

    Bali Zoo

I visited the Bali Zoo back in January 2009 and was really pleasantly surprised by the place. There were elements that I disliked but on the whole the place had a good 'feel' to it and to me seemed, in spite of lapses, to be a more 'caring' collection than the Safari and Maine Park up the road. I do hope that they make efforts to join SEAZA and gain credibility.

Bali zoo has come a long way .Since your visit back in January the zoo has created a moat for Gibbons as well working on lions habitat (once again moat and electric) .The zoo is growing leaps and bounds .From humble beginnings to a very nice zoo these days .I am most happy to be a part of this zoo ,great family ,has given me a lot of pleasure working with them .They are one zoo that really care on the zoos future and the animals safety and diets etc .
