Halls Gap Zoo and Wildlife Park
Old 08-09-2006

Hey Guys,
Does anyone know much about this place. I was talking to Darryl Panther, the owner last year and they were considering selling it. I was very interested but I couldn't find enough information on the park. I haven't had the oppurtunity to visit this park and I was just wondering what you guyus could tell me about it.

Thanks

I've been to the Hall's Gap "Zoo".

I wouldn't really call it a zoo.....more like a private collection of assorted animals. They have one rhesus monkey.....it's a bit heartbreaking.

You can buy a bag of feed (and the deer will be your best friends until the bag empties...then they don't want to know you any more.)

There are quite a few domestic animals as well which makes it feel more like a farm than a zoo.

I didn't dislike the place and I think the owners are doing their best (and I think they have changed hands recently). If you're in the area (Halls Gap/Ararat) it's a diversion from the usual bush walks and wineries.
