More than a dozen green turtles have been released into Moreton Bay after recovering from injury and illness at Sea World on the Gold Coast.
Marine Sciences manager Trevor Long has urged boat owners in the area to take extra care and keep an eye out for the sea creatures.
"Anywhere where there's shallow banks is where the turtles are," he said.
"We ask people, if you don't need to go fast, don't go fast, because you come up on the back of the turtles very quickly and you can hit them."
