I've been scanning some of my parents old slides and came across a set from our trip to Sydney in December 1976 (I was 3 years old).

I've uploaded some photos to the gallery - Taronga Zoo Gallery

    Very enjoyable photos, Sim'.
The one of the giraffe enclosure is of interest to me because I have an old pic taken about 3 years later, and by then the high wall had been removed ( or at least lowered considerably.) It was originally thought necessary to protect the giraffes from the cold southerly winds.

Some nice memories there Sim! The deer, zebra and pygmy hippo were in concrete pens where the Chimp Park and Waterhole now stand.

    :p

Thanks guys - was an interesting find amongst the photos.

I think I also have some photos of Adelaide Zoo from around the same era - will upload them when I manage to track them down.

About 2,500 slides scanned so far (has taken me 2 years to get to this point!), another 500 to go I estimate
