Just thought I'd put a link to a video I uploaded to the gallery with a news item that talked about the recent gathering of experts to learn from Werribee's success in breeding Southern White Rhinos.
Werribees sucess? They have had 2 calves from one female, out of four or five, dubbo has bred calves from everyone of their females, a couple more than once.
I thought it a bit odd as well. They haven't had nearly as much sucess as some of the american zoos. How does that make them one of the best rhino breeding zoos in the world? I suppose it is maybe because they found our that males and Females living together permenatly wouldn't mate. Wonder whether it applies to black rhinos..........
