ungulates and relatives found in Borneo:

Elephas maximus "Pygmy" elephant
Dicerorhinus sumatrensis Sumatran rhinoceros. Extinct in Brunei, Sarawak and Kalimantan. Found only in eastern Sabah.
Sus barbatus Bearded pig
Sus scrofa Domestic pig
Tragulus javanicus Lesser mouse-deer
Tragulus napu Greater mouse-deer
Muntiacus muntjak Red muntjac
Muntiacus atherodes Bornean yellow muntjac
Cervus unicolor Sambar deer
Cervus timorensis Javan deer
Bos javanicus Tembadau. Extinct in Brunei, Sarawak and Kalimantan. Found only in eastern Sabah.
Bos indicus Domestic cattle
Bubalus bubalis Water buffalo
Capra aegagrus Domestic goat

like the tigers, the Malayan tapir has also been occasionally reported but never confirmed from Borneo. Personally I also don't see why it shouldn't be there.

maybe there was at one stage, but wasnt a viable population and died out or something, or a small poulation, that jst wasnt able to survive

Sadly, it now seems the recent wild South China tiger photos were fakes. Whoever said that the tiger seemed posed was closer to the truth than they probably realised.

But on a brighter note, a baby South China tiger (male) was born a couple of weeks ago at the Laohu Valley Reserve in South Africa, the first of this species to be born outside China.

whislt i understand hunting skills are hunting skills, it still baffles me as to why they chose to "rewild" tigers in africa. south africas savannah woodlands are a very different habitat to south chinas cool forests.
