Favourite comedians
Old 07-06-2008

I'm sure that we all love a good laugh, but who is the best at making us Chuckle?

My favourites are Ken Dodd (He just tells joke after joke after joke, and if you ever see him in Stand-up you'll be there from about 7pm till about 1am!) and Victoria Wood.

At Drama we've been putting a performance together using comic sketches and Victoria wood's are simply the best!

Here is some of her work:

YouTube - Victoria Wood - Things Would Never Have Worked

As far as stand-up comedians go, Chris Rock and Denis Leary are two of my all-time favourites. Eddie Murphy, when he was much younger, was also hilarious. Just like Robin Williams, all of these guys have lots of profanity but also a load of killer jokes.

Oh where do I start...

Rowan Atkinson - Not for Mr Bean, but for Blackadder and his fantastic live shows.
Jack Dee - Dead pan intelligent humour at its best.
Jimmy Carr - Audience putdowns and deadpan, he's great.
Ricky Gervais - The Office, Extras and really funny live shows
Dara O'Brien - Solid stand-up comedian.
Rory Bremner - Political Satire and impersonations
Some Peter Kay stuff - Some of it is too cheesy, but he does have some gems (like pheonix nights)
Lee Mack - some funny jokes
Omar Djalli (sp?) - Just unbelievably funny

Eddie Izzard is just fantastic, with intelligent and completely wacky humor.

Oh yeah, missed Bill Bailey off my list. Well known for Never Mind The Buzzcocks, but is also great in Black Books and is incredibly funny live.

Stewie and Brian of Family Guy are the perfect team, in real life I'd have to say my favourites are Radio talk show hosts, Andy lee and Hamish Blake, they do great accents and convince so many people, in so comic ways,
