And yet you like Carino? Bizarre! Did you like Chyna back in the day as well? I preferred Stephanie McMahon.

why do you find it bizarre that people have different preferences?

What I find bizarre is that you would think Elsa Pataky could be an MMA fighter, or that I would think she could be an action star. She could be broken in half by a five year old girl.

I thought she was in the 'hot and petite' MMA category. We agree on Mongolian beauty though.

How coincidental! I actually checked to see when the first news report of her death was (it was 16hrs ago) compared to my post (which was 21hrs ago). RIP.

    Babadook - 4/10
There's a lot of hype surrounding this Aussie horror film, and in my opinion, it's unfounded. The movie was not scary in slightest, and as a slow burner, I was wondering if they got their genre's confused. It's a story of a monster in the closet of a child's bedroom that you shouldn't waste your time on.

    Pompeii - 7/10
If you like disaster flicks like San Andreas, then you'll enjoy this historical take on the genre. It's a love story, action, and tragedy all rolled into one.

    Look Who's Back - 8/10
German-language movie that's part political commentary, part comedy, part reality TV about Hitler being transported from 1945 to modern-day Germany. It was most fascinating to see how many modern-day Germans embraced him and his views, while other wanted to skewer him. I understand that it is based on a best-selling book. Watch it on Netflix for free!

    Hush - 7/10
A good old fashioned slasher movie. A hearing-impaired writer is tormented by a slasher in a mask. Worth a look if you like the genre.

    Chocolat - 8/10
I had never seen this film from a decade ago, but stumbled upon it on one of the streaming services. If you enjoyed The Hundred Foot Journey movie, then you will enjoy this film about a single mother opening a chocolaterie in a very conservative town.

    Focus - 8/10
This was a very enjoyable heist/scam artist movie with Will Smith and Margot Robbie in the lead roles. A bit corny and predictable in parts, but overall there were enough twists and turns to make it worth watching. If you're a fan of Ocean's 11,12,13, then you will want to watch this.

    The Voices - 6/10
What a weird movie with Ryan Reynolds. He obviously has mental problems, and when he stops taking his meds, his pet dog and cat talk to him. The cat encourages him to kill his coworkers, and he does. A black dramedy if I ever saw one.

    The Giver - 5/10
Another one of these post apocalyptic, utopia, teen movies. It had potential, but really wasn't my cup of tea - I wasn't sure where it was going, and at the end of the film, I wanted my 1.5hrs back.

    We're the Millers - 7/10
A no brainer comedy about a group of 'neighbours' that pretend to be a family so that they can collect a fat paycheck for smuggling drugs across the Mexican-American border. Things go awry, comedy ensues. Worth a watch if you liked The Hangover.

    The Good Dinosaur - 6/10
This was a coming of age animated flick with the best animated water (rivers) and trees I have ever seen. Oh, the story is a downer: a young dinosaur's dad get's killed, he gets lost, and he needs to find his way back home and overcome his fears. Marketed as a kids film, but if you swap the dinosaurs for humans, then you get an adult, film that would fit in quite well on the 'Life' TV channel.

    2 Guns - 6/10
A dysfunctional buddy cop movie with a few twists and turns, some comedy, and a few big explosions. Nothing to write home about, but worth a look if you are a Denzil Washington or Mark Wahlberg and it's on TV.

Well if you happen to share the name Denzil Washington or Mark Wahlberg then you might also think it's worth a look.

ah yes, good point. Still a rather limited audience pool though. Makes one wonder why they even made the movie.

That was a deliberate test to see if anyone reads these posts. :D

    Snakes on a Plane - 7/10
My wife never watched this film when it was released because she thought it looked silly. We stumbled upon it on Netflix, so I convinced her to watch it. We've all seen it: it's silly, unbelievable, funny, and scary, all rolled into one. Watch it!

    Planet Terror - 7/10
Another flick she had never seen. I quite liked this Quentin Tarantino flick which was made in the style of a 70's B-movie, with bad 'film' quality, missing reels, and dodgy sound. This is a must watch for its silliness factor, especially a younger Rose McGowan with an assault rifle for a leg.

    Deadpool - 8/10
This movie has been reviewed to death already. It's an enjoyable, R-rated, superhero, action comedy. It had an amazing opening credits scene, didn't take itself too seriously, and the wisecracks were genuinely funny. My only 'complaint' (*ducks for cover*) about it was that Deadpool talks too much! There isn't a scene without him shooting off at the mouth. Other than that, definitely worth watching in cinema.

That’s why he’s called the “Merc with a Mouth“...
Similar MO as Spidey: unnerving the opponents.

Best part of Snakes on a Plane: the Boelen’s python.

I haven't seem the new Spider-Man in a film yet.

I thought the best part of Snakes on a Plane was the mile high club scene? Genuinely scary for anyone wanting to try that...
