I couldn't agree more, Glyn.
So-called bear "farming" for bile is the grossest institutionalised cruelty to wild animals that exists in the world today (although the treatment of dogs by Koreans runs it a close second!)
Apparently bear farming is also on the increase in Vietnam.
Some of those bears are held in cages so small that they don't so much live in them as wear them - hardly able to move, and kept like that for years. Fed rubbish, and when they are no longer of use, they are just allowed to starve to death.
China is supposed to be one of the world's oldest civilisations, but there's nothing civilised about their treatment of these animals. Anything that can be done to stamp it out should be done. (This is where the animal libbers should be active, not just the usual soft targets.)
