What is the most boring month of the year in your opinion? It's January (Christmas long gone, nothing but snow), March (cold and wet ), and November (drags on and on and on!) It's probably the summer months for snowleopard Get it, Snow leopard
Well, at least we are not walking upsidedown all the time as you guys from the downside of the globe does...
In the Northern Hemisphere, people go to the beach in the summer. It is like the winter in the Southern Hemisphere (in July) but the winter in the USA is from November-March, not in the middle of the year.
why don't they pass a bill in Congress to get the winter moved then? It makes no sense to have it at Christmas time when everyone is on holiday.
It's nothing to do with politics, Chli. It's the way the seasons are in the Northern Hemisphere and the US.
Upside-down? You mean on our hands? We don't walk like that, we walk on our feet. Why would you think otherwise? Obama probably wants to (he seems a very sensible chap) but I guess it's just one more thing the Republicans are blocking. Is the Northern Hemisphere separate from the US? Hix
I thought you must grab your hands into the ground to avoid falling down in space. But obviously I'm wrong. So that means you must have magnetic shoes that keeps you on earth, haven't you?… Okay, enough kiding. (But it must be still weird singing songs about snow, snow bells and Santa Clause when it is 25° C and more outside)
25ºC ? That would be great if it were that pleasant. It was 38ºC here yesterday, and summer doesn't start for at least another week! As for songs about Santa Claus - who else would we sing about at Christmas? Hix
I thought hot snow fell up in the Southern Hemisphere. Also, how do you all keep from falling off the bottom of the planet?
We have something called gravity. You'd probably have it too if gravity wasn't so damned heavy, and it all settled to the bottom of the planet which is why we have it and you don't. Apparently the reason you guys on top don't just float off into space is because the Northern Hemisphere sucks. Hix This fun science fact brought to you by Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia
It's interesting how Christmas up there is in winter. I always assumed that all the winteriness on the greeting cards and in the carols just related to the North Pole, given that it is a holiday to celebrate the birth of Santa Claus. And I guess it does explain why I always hear about snowball fights at Christmas. Down here in Australia and New Zealand we have golfball fights and I always thought it was a bizarre notion using snow instead. I assume you put them in the freezer before starting, because otherwise how do you inflict proper injuries?
I have heard rumors of corneal abrasions from snowballs, also you can slip on black ice and blow you knee out or get a concussion, maybe even a broken nose and definitely bruises while running away from other fighters. Do you have black ice in NZ? It is the worst.
What about when you are on the equator? I stood on the equator in Kenya and didn't fall off the side of the planet. I was very disappointed
