How many species of small carnivore species can be seen in Singapore Zoo and Night Safari? I am very interesting in the small felid, civet and Mustelidae, and may have a trip to Singapore soon. From the Internet I know there are Malay civets, small-toothed palm civets, binturongs, golden cats, clouded leopards, fishing cats, leopard cats, servels, hog badgers and bat-eared foxes in Night safari; small-clawed otters, binturongs and ocelots in Singpore Zoo. Are there any other species? For example, linsang, banded civet, otter civet, flat-headed cats, marbled cats, Javan mongoose, Burmese Ferret-badger and yellow-throated marten? Thanks a lot!

I don't know how much of this is accurate now, but...

    ZooForAnimals.asp

That'll at least give you an idea of what species they've had in the past few years.

That list shows both species of clouded leopard. If they do indeed have Neofelis diardii (the island form) that would be huge!

They might, but remember that that list is several years old and doesn't get updated, for example if you look at some US zoos you might see species they may have had in the early 2000s but don't anymore. Lots of zoos have no animals listed at all too.

they no longer have their diardi. He was sent to another zoo (I think in Indonesia, but I can't remember exactly)

Thank you very much! The list shows that there are both Owston's civet and banded civet there! Is it true?

Thanks a lot for your kindness, Zooish! It is a pity that the maned wolf and ocelot are off-exhibited.

Construction for River Safari has begun and the part of the Zoo where the maned wolf exhibit is will become the Frozen Tundra and Giant Panda exhibits.

I'm not sure though if arrangements have been made for a temporary exhibit for the maned wolves. I'll update after I visit the Zoo again.

Otherwise, they and the ocelots will be back on display at River Safari in 2012.
