I don't know yet the 2016 plans, last year they have opened the Red Pandas and Indian Porcupines area, Goats and Sheeps area, Reptilarium and Otters area, and some new animals

    Two questions about Zoom Torino:
    1) Are there any major additional plans for expansion at this zoo?
    2) What are the dates that Boulder Beach is open?

In Zoom Torino were born 4 otters, not 2

    1) Zoom Torino should open a new little "zoo" near the centre of Torino the next year
There will be like three thematic farms and an Indoor area (divided in China and South America), it should be built where there was the old Zoo di Torino
Then as I knew there were plans to keep building new areas, but I don't know anything about those plans
    2) It is opened since June till September

Torino asked to someone to make that zone better than what it is now and Zoom Torino has been the only one to present a project, but I don't know which are the reasons

Three years ago I asked if there were new plans, they told me they were planning to make a South American indoor area (Zoom Torino is divided in Asia and Africa, probably they want to keep these 2 different areas)
And yes Zoom has a lot of space around it, but most of it are fields

Zoo friends news Rotterdam Zoo. It is pretty official that.

I reckon it is the second group in Italian zoos now after Bioparco.
    Expect more to come ...

Oh great, probably Zoom prefers to wait before announcing it
I didn't understand if the gazelles in the Bioparco came from Zoom Torino or not
Because Zoom got gazelles since 2013, Bioparco since 2016, but it seemed like it received them from Zoom

Dear Piko, pure speculation on my part: But Bioparco received an all male group ex ZOOM Torino. Like with some other high profile EEP species, the EEP probably goes by a safety first policy and allows new institutions to start only with all male groups before allowing them to acquire a breeding nucleus. This is what probably happened at ZOOM.

Other examples are f.i. Doue de la Fontaine (also all male surplus group).

Piko, I simply don't know. But as I tried to explain to you earlier I expect ZOOM Torino now to have a breeding group (so 1 male + females).

Here is a recent picture of them (2 females + youngster) from their Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/zoomtorino...94837590477/10157266380660478/?type=3&theater

    Some more historical info:
June 3, 2013: 2.0 Mhorr gazelle arrived at ZOOM Torino ex Rotterdam Blijdorp.
The same year ZOOM received 4.0 Mhorrs from Zoo Hellabrunn Muenchen.

Now, 5.0 left ZOOM May 2016 for Bioparco di Roma; 0.2 arrived from Rotterdam. So, you can safely bet 1.0 ex Muenchen Zoo is now the to be breeding male at ZOOM.
