Eye of the Caiman - Tortuguero, 13/04/14

Spectacled Caiman, Caiman crocodilus This restricted view was the first of many caiman on the trip, in Tortuguero and Cano Negro (but no wild crocs, in the end). Didn't see much of this one but made for quite a nice image!

Maguari, with all of your world travels how many species of wild crocodilians have you seen now?
• Maguari
Two. :D

Just American Alligator and Spectacled Caiman. Was hoping for American Crocodile in Costa Rica but no joy. There is a chance of one more species being added before the year's out, all being well. :)

Ooh, any chance of spilling the beans on this mystery location? :)
• Maguari
:D

I'm booked for a mammal(-and-other-things!)-spotting tour of Ethiopia in October, so there's at least a chance of Nile Croc.
• Brum
Ethiopia? Nice! :)

Are you looking for Ethiopian wolves by any chance? :D
• Maguari
That's the plan, but I'll be happy enough with the antelope (Mountain Nyala is the biggest draw for me!). Wolves are not guaranteed so will see how we go.
• Brum
Either way you will be getting quite a lot of "lucky bastard" badges if you get some decent pictures! :p
Are mountain nyala a guaranteed species on the tour, what's the success rate like with them? And what else are you likely to see? I'm guessing geladas are on the list, maybe even Walia ibex?
• Maguari
This is the tour: http://www.naturetrek.co.uk/tour.aspx?id=122
Mountain Nyala we can be pretty confident of but it's wildlife so I wouldn't guarantee anything! Geladas are also on there; no ibex though sadly (wrong part of the country).

The link isn't working for me, I still have no idea what your trip involves! Any chance of a brief summary of what you're expecting?
