Hannover Zoo - Hanuman Langur Exhibit
Old 27-11-2008

This is the exhibit for hanuman langurs in The Jungle Palace in Hannover Zoo. Maybe not the best shot, because the monkeys were, just like the gorillas, indoors, but this is just a small overview over the exhibit.

I've always been undecided over these "temple ruins" type of exhibits, and would prefer a much more naturalistic habitat for the animals.

Isn't this exhibit shown on Zoolex?

Yes it is: ZooLex

Snowleopard: Perhaps hanuman langurs are the exception to that rule. After all, they are also know as temple monkeys, and are quite famous for that.

Good point Toddy in regards to the Hanuman langurs. I'm looking forward to seeing the gibbon exhibit at Disney's Animal Kingdom, as it is another "temple ruins" habitat.

Unlike this exhibit, in Disney's gibbon exhibits they aren't the means of containment for the gibbons. The gibbons are on an island. The temple ruins are there with the sole purpose of giving the bamboo scaffolding a logical reason to exist.
