Hi black-star. Welcome to the forum.
When I was around 6 or 7 my infant teacher showed the class a Noah's Ark type poster. She knew all the animals expect for those beginning with 'o'. They were okapis and I told her so. She had never heard of them and was so impressed with my knowledge she arranged for the headmaster to give me a special prize. I've liked Okapis ever since. |

I visited your zoo in 2003 while attending the International Zookeepers conference at Avifauna. (I'm a zookeeper in Fort Wayne, Indiana in the US). It was a very rainy day, but I thoroughly enjoyed the okapis--gorgeous animals. All in all a pleasant visit!
