Greetings, members of ZooChat. My name is KevinB. I'm 25 years old and I'm from the Antwerp province of Belgium. I have had an interest in animals and nature since age 7-8, an interest which started during/after a visit to Planckendael. I have a masters degree in environmental sciences. I have some pets myself, including a group of chickens and a rooster, as well as a fish tank with harlequin rasboras, honey gouramis and kuhli loaches. I used to have a dog, but he passed away last year. I've been a (critical) zoo-lover for at least the last ten years. For almost ten years now, I have also taken pictures of animals and exhibits at zoos. I have visited some 30-35 zoological facilities in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and France. My favorite zoos include Planckendael (an old love, I guess), Burgers' Zoo, Safaripark Beekse Bergen and GaiaZoo. Planckendael and Antwerp are what I would call my 'home zoos', and they are the ones I visit most often (my family has been KMDA members since 1997). Recently I have visited Antwerp Zoo, Planckendael and the Olmense Zoo. I am currently working on adding pictures of the Olmense Zoo's exhibits and animals to the gallery here at ZooChat.

Thank you guys. Jola, I am not sure I will be visiting Beekse Bergen anytime soon, and when I'm there I have to take the safari bus, but I will try when I'm there next time.
