Hello from South Africa
Old 22-03-2008

Hi, I'm Luke.

29 from East London, South Africa.
I volunteer at the zoo during most days (I work at night in the newspaper field).
Am seriously considering at looking into starting a small private zoo on our small (+-70 acre) family farm which is currently not really being utilised.

Really glad I've found this forum. I look forward to hours of interesting reading while I catch up and lots of great information.

Welcome, Lukeness!

It's great that you can volunteer at your local zoo. I would volunteer at mine if I could get to it more often

Hello Luke,

Welcome home!

Nice to have someone from the African continent amongst us now. I hope you are the first of many. Having travelled to East Africa several times, Ethiopia and Madagascar, I just love the atmosphere. South Africa, Namibia, Chad, Niger, Mali, Congo, Gabon and Zambia are still on my to visit list.

Incidentally, I am a volunteer at my local zoo too. Do zoo-guiding. It is indeed very rewarding. Also, I am a reptile keeper with African lizards.

Cheers,

Jelle

I have a few ideas but it's still very open and I would love suggestions. It also depends on legislation here and what I actually can keep.
